Joanne Beasley
Joanne has been practising exclusively in family law in London since 1989. Immediately after working through law school and articling with a firm, Joanne opened up her own law firm to practice family law in 1989. Joanne obtained an Honours B.A. in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario and her law degree from the University of Ottawa. She is a founding member of the Collaborative Law Group of London.
Joanne is also an accredited mediator of family law matters (OAFM) and child protection matters (including openness). Joanne started her mediation practice in 1997.
Joanne has volunteered as a Board Member for many community organizations. She has been extensively involved in legal committees, including the Middlesex Family Law Association (past President and executive member), various Bench and Bar committees, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice – Family Court Resource Committee (11 years).
Joanne attends legal education programs frequently and lectures on family law and alternate dispute resolution. She has also presented educational sessions to separating parents at “In the Middle” from 1993 through 2002 and at “Couples Apart ……..Parents Forever” since 2000.
Retaining Our Firm:
The fee for an initial consultation with our office is $350.00 inclusive of H.S.T. The consultation consists of a one hour appointment with a lawyer from our office. Payment is required at the time of the consultation in the form of cash, cheque or money order. We do not accept debit or credit transactions. You will be required to produce government issued, photo identification (such as a driver’s license) at the time of your consultation.
If you become a client of Beasley Law Office, you will sign a written retainer document. Our initial cash retainer is a minimum of $3,000.00 and these funds are held in trust and applied to your accounts and disbursements. You will be required to maintain a trust balance of $1000.00 at all times. It is the practice of our firm to render accounts each week that your file is active so that you are kept informed of the work that is being done and the cost to you.
